Infrastructure and cloud platform engineer with 15 years at EnergyCAP, a SaaS energy and utility bill management company, progressing from IT support to Staff Cloud Platform Engineer. Deep on-prem expertise across data centers, networking, virtualization and storage, with the past five years focused on cloud modernization.

I lead and own hybrid Azure infrastructure, legacy platform modernization, and the automation and data pipelines behind the company’s Bill CAPture service, and previously led the operations team. My approach: automate what can be automated, make systems easier for others to operate, and solve problems across infrastructure, applications and operations rather than treating them as separate disciplines.

Cloud Modernization & Infrastructure

Led the migration of EnergyCAP’s hosting environment from on-prem to Azure across East and West US plus a dedicated FedRAMP environment (~20 VMs, storage accounts and Kubernetes), with site-to-site connectivity back to the on-prem data center.
Led the migration of production infrastructure out of a colocation facility into a unified data center environment, coordinating firewall and network cutovers and server/VM moves with minimal disruption.
Architect and implement Azure networking for production, hybrid connectivity and internal tools; partner with the security team to maintain security best practices across cloud and on-prem environments.
Own the architecture and operation of the on-prem side of the hybrid environment: a 6-host VMware cluster (~200 VMs), Pure Storage, Windows Server/AD and SSL/TLS. Currently leading a Dell PowerStore SAN implementation.
Owned the low-voltage infrastructure design for company headquarters, including server room build-out, structured cabling, network and wireless infrastructure, and security cameras.

Automation & Data Integration

Lead developer of the Bill CAPture automation platform (PHP/CodeIgniter, MySQL; ~60% of commits, 2014–2025), which ingests utility bills from mail/scan, email, SFTP, web upload, EDI 810 and data providers, performs QA/exception handling, and imports them into EnergyCAP. Now processes ~300K bills/month for 360+ clients, up 13× since 2016 (15.8M+ bills to date).
Designed and built the EDI workflow for utility X12 810 invoices (~400K bills/year), including 997 acknowledgments, per-client configuration and SFTP/PGP exchange; continue to own it in production.
Built the PowerShell/Microsoft Graph email-ingestion service and own JAMS enterprise job scheduling for client-facing production workflows.
Built OperationsHub, a .NET internal portal with Entra ID SSO and group-based access, replacing manual production database edits with controlled self-service tools.

Operations & Leadership

Led a 3-person operations team covering hosting, customer data processing and production support; lead root-cause analysis of complex production issues spanning multiple systems and teams.
Owned vendor relationships and renewals across VMware, Microsoft SPLA, Red Gate, Palo Alto Networks and Dell/Insight. Earlier led the company’s Office 365 and Lync rollouts and IT support.
